Central Texas “No Frills” rapid mini UpDog holiday Special.

Experienced teams are welcome to come out an test their skills while earning points. New players are encouraged to join in on the action while learning new games and getting tips and coaching from the pros.

SUNDAY – 2 rounds each:

Skills: short 5 yard throws, handler movement/agility/speed, short range drops, throwing accuracy, dog/handler coordination, pattern training, disc management

TimeWarp
Skills: Short/medium/long throws, accuracy, speed, long range drops, efficiency, recall

Frizgility
Skills: Short throws, accuracy, speed, disc handoffs, jumps and tunnels, pattern training, dog/handler coordination, recall

COST: $5 per point qualifier round (Holiday Discount). Competitors will have the ability to run two rounds. An option will be given to run one or both as a point qualifier. Competitors will have to announce prior to the time beginning whether the round is practice or official. Official qualifier rounds will be charged a $5 fee and final scores will be submitted to UpDog for points.

LOCATION: The event will be held on the agility field at DogBOys Dog Ranch in Pflugerville, TX. Parking can be found on the west side of the street adjacent to the agility field. Please crate your dog’s away from the agility field fence line.

REGISTRATION:
This is the first “Official” mini UpDog competition in Texas, where teams can earn official UpDog points toward the 2018 (2017 season) UPDIF. You will need to register your human/canine teams online with the UpDog Challenge organization prior to attending. Please print your team information and bring it with you to the comp in order to register for the individual events and receive qualifier points.

HOUSEKEEPING: of course, we all know to pick up after our pups’ poop. But also:
LEASH YOUR DOGS:
We will be strictly enforcing the leash laws at this event. No dogs off leash if not performing, even if your dog is friendly. Not everyone wants your friendly dog running up to them or their dog (who may or may not be friendly).

REACTIVE DOGS:
Disc Dogging is one of the few sports that dogs who “might not like other dogs” can play in. If you have a reactive dog, please let us know ahead of time, before you take the field. We will make an announcement and ALL other participants will be asked to put their dogs away in a secure place – crates, cars, etc… This is so that all dogs and their humans can play in a safe environment.
